IT Managed Services

Any amount of downtime in a business can be costly and frustrating.  When something on your network breaks or you have a question, who do you call and how long will it take for them to respond?

For most small businesses, paying to have an IT department on staff is simply not a viable option.

Our Managed Services package gives you a full IT department in a single, convenient line item with a consistent monthly fee.  We'll proactively keep your systems running at optimum levels, back up your crucial data and keep the viruses at bay.  Each DES Managed Services package is scaled to meet the unique needs of each individual business.

Network Protection

DES can provide and configure the protection you need to stop sophisticated attacks and advanced threats while providing secure network access to those you trust.

  • Network Firewall
  • Intrusion Prevention Systems
  • Advanced Threat Protection
  • Secure VPN (Virtual Private Network) Access
  • Site-to-Site VPN

We'll design a system for your business that guards your network from malicious content and unauthorized intruders.  A Network Protection system is available as part of the our Managed Services packages.

Structured Cabling

A network can only be as good as the foundation that it's built on.  A DES structured cabling package will provide the infrastructure not only for the needs of today but for years to come.  Our Design Consultants will help educate you on the technologies that can enhance your business and develop a structured cabling package based on your needs.

No one can predict with complete certainty what the future of technology holds.  What we can say with complete confidence is that the need for network bandwidth will continue to grow.  That's why DES no longer includes Cat-5e cable in our cabling packages and instead uses higher bandwidth Cat-6 as our minimum standard.  Fiber optic cabling is offered as well.  We want the investment you make to reap benefits for years to come.

As a full service technology integration firm, we can also take care of the rest of your low voltage needs including TV, video distribution, audio speakers, etc.

Control Systems

Investing in a control system allows you to make practical use of the technology that you purchase.  DES adheres to a Technology...Simplified approach when designing commercial systems.  Our team of engineers and software developers tailor each system to make it usable for every member of your team, from the front desk personnel to the chief executive.

A DES control system becomes the central hub for operation of your presentation systems, video conferencing, collaboration system, lighting, HVAC, shades and room scheduling.  DES streamlines and simplifies the technology so you and your team can focus on being productive.

Presentation Systems

Nearly every business person on the planet has had the uncomfortable experience of trying to get the presentation on their laptop to display properly on the conference room screen.  Unfortunately, this sometimes results in a table full of people huddles around a small laptop as you struggle to communicate your message.

We recognize that each member of your team (not to mention guest presenters) may be carrying different laptops or tablets with different outputs and resolutions.  That's why we install systems that decode the display signal behind the scenes so you can get your meeting up and running on time.

Our Design Consultants will also work with you and your space to insure that you have a screen everyone can see and audio that everyone can hear and understand.

Collaboration Systems

Presentation systems have been a staple of the modern office for some time.    Now technology has advanced take us beyond simple presentation and make meetings a truly collaborative experience.

Video conferencing allows team members all over the globe to see and hear each other without the expense of jetting people from office to office.

New software platforms like Microsoft Skype for Business make it easy to share content with one another regardless of whether attendees are in the conference room, at their desk, working from home or out on the road.  When combined with hardware like Crestron RL or Smart Board interactive displays sharing ideas and concepts is easier and more effective than ever.

VoIP Phone Systems

Unlike a traditional analog phone system, a VoIP phone system connects to your Local Area Network (LAN) and uses it as the backbone of your system.  VoIP systems offer a number of great features and superior audio quality.

  • Call Queues - Several employees (or all of them) can answer incoming calls to the main line.  You can upload music or record announcements letting callers know when they can expect to talk to someone.
  • Interactive Voice Response - Also known as "Auto Attendants" allow you to determine the greeting people hear, what options they have and where their calls get routed.
  • Conferencing - You no longer have to pay for 3rd party conferencing services.
  • Voicemail - Every user gets their own voicemail box and many ways to access their messages.
  • Music on Hold - Upload your own music or messaging
  • ...and much, much more.

Lighting Control

When properly installed and programmed, a lighting control system can add beauty, efficiency and better functionality to a commercial space  When set up in conjunction with a professional lighting designer, a lighting control system can dramatically transform your space, accentuating the unique architecture and interior design of the entire office.

Many commercial spaces are required by local codes to install energy saving devices like occupancy sensors.  An integrated lighting control system with occupancy, temperature and light sensors can work in conjunction with the motorized window coverings to utilize energy saving features like daylight harvesting to conserve energy.

Climate Control

One of that largest contributors to the monthly energy bill is the cost of climate control.  With an automated climate control system, businesses can schedule the system for maximum comfort and productivity during the work day and a more conservative temperature setting for off times.  The ability to change temperature settings can be strictly limited to only authorized personnel.

When included as part of an integrated system that includes motorized shades and window coverings, a business can offset the effects of the exterior climate by minimizing the amount of direct sunlight allowed into the office at certain times of the day.  Both systems work in concert to maintain a pleasant temperature in the most energy efficient way possible.

Motorized Shades & Drapes

Sunlight has a direct impact on our mood in a way that artificial light simply can't match.  Stylish control and fabric options coupled with innovative technology elegantly transition an office space to create the right amount of light for any activity.

Shading systems can be controlled using a myriad of keypads, IR remote controls, wireless tabletop controls, or set to an astronomic time clock for automatic adjustment of shades.

Motorized shading systems diffuse light and prevent glare from washing out a computer or conference room projection screen. Shading systems also protect furniture, fine art, rugs, and even wood surfaces, from the sun’s damaging UV rays. Stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter by using shading systems to deflect or harness solar heat.

Distributed Audio

Distributed Audio

Planning an audio distribution system for a commercial environment takes quite a bit more thought and planning than people typically realize.  While most people may have a pretty good idea of what they want from their audio system (background music, paging & announcements, etc.), they may not always have a full understanding of what it takes to get there.  There is a good deal of science that goes into planning a system to achieve those goals.

The number of speakers, their dispersion characteristics, the type of audio source(s), control and the acoustic properties of the environment all have a dramatic effect on the end result.  A DES Design Consultant can work with you to make sure you have the right system, with the right effect, for your business.

Distributed audio was included as a part of this dental office's game room to  help make going to get your teeth checked a lot less intimidating!

Distributed Video

TVs have larger screens than ever while they continue to get thinner and thinner.  Unfortunately, there are still a bunch of black boxes ( like cable tuners and blu-ray players ) that still need to be plugged into the TV.  All of those boxes have to be housed somewhere.  DES specializes in hiding those boxes away while still delivering crisp, clear high-definition 1080p or 4K Ultra high-definition pictures to every TV in your facility.

Video distribution let's all the TVs in an office, sports bar or even an outdoor pool area (as pictured) share one or many different sources.  A DES installed video distribution system handles the latest high definition signals while remaining easy for your staff to operate and control.
